1962年．原三星创始人之一的赵洪济先生在晓星物产（株）的基础上，并购了当时经营不善的朝鲜制粉、韩国轮胎（株）、大田皮革（株）后，成立了hyosung(晓星集团)的前身——东洋尼龙公司。1967年，成功开发出自主产权的轮胎帘子布，次年在韩国蔚山建成帘子布工厂并全面投产。1971年，晓星在韩国成立了第一家民间企业技术研究所，从此实现了快速的增长，纤维集成生产体系开始建立。同时，晓星在收购韩永工业（株）基础上，进军重工领域，后来又进入钢铁、成型、电脑、地毯等领域。
